Terms of Service

This is a beta-stage product baseline, not a substitute for legal advice, and it has not been reviewed by an attorney. Governing law and jurisdiction are intentionally left unspecified below because we haven't yet established which apply — that will be added once our legal entity details are finalized, before general commercial availability.

1. What Atlas Vault is

Atlas Vault is a private, self-hosted AI platform that lets your organization ask questions of its own documents ("Vault content"), research the public web, and run scheduled AI Agents, with answers intended to be traceable to their sources. These Terms govern your organization's ("Customer," "you") access to and use of Atlas Vault during its beta period.

2. Account responsibility

You are responsible for the accounts your organization creates, the credentials issued to your users, and the activity that occurs under those accounts. You agree to use reasonable measures to keep account credentials confidential and to notify us promptly if you become aware of unauthorized access.

3. Authorized use

You may use Atlas Vault to process your own company knowledge, conduct research, and configure Agents for legitimate business purposes consistent with these Terms and applicable law.

4. Prohibited use

You agree not to use Atlas Vault to:

Upload or process content you do not have the right to use;
Attempt to bypass, disable, or interfere with access controls, rate limiting, or other security mechanisms;
Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the service without authorization;
Use the service to violate applicable law, or the rights of any third party;
Reverse-engineer the service beyond what applicable law permits.

5. Your content

As between you and us, you own the documents, data, and other content your organization uploads or generates within Atlas Vault ("Customer Content"). You grant us only the limited license necessary to host, process, index, and display Customer Content back to your own authorized users as part of operating the service for you — nothing more. We do not claim ownership of Customer Content, and we do not use Customer Content to train models shared with other customers.

6. Our intellectual property

Atlas Vault's software, design, and branding are our property (or that of our licensors). These Terms do not grant you any rights in Atlas Vault itself beyond the ability to use the service as provided.

7. Beta status and availability

Atlas Vault is currently offered as a beta product. Features may change, and the service may experience downtime, incomplete functionality, or behavior changes as it matures. We do not currently commit to a specific uptime guarantee or service-level agreement during the beta period.

8. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe these Terms have been violated, or if continued access would create a security or legal risk. You may stop using Atlas Vault at any time. On termination, provisions that by their nature should survive (ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability) will survive.

9. Disclaimers

Atlas Vault is provided "as is" and "as available" during this beta period, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Atlas Vault's answers, including AI-generated summaries and research, may be incomplete or incorrect; you are responsible for independently verifying anything material before relying on it, which is part of why we surface citations and evidence rather than asking you to trust answers blindly.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or lost data, arising from your use of Atlas Vault. Nothing in these Terms is intended to eliminate liability where it cannot lawfully be limited.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the product evolves. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do, and material changes will be communicated to active customers.

By creating or using an Atlas Vault account, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.
